The broader Teaneck Bais Menachem Community is invited and encouraged to participate in the Teaneck Hakhel Sefer Torah Project 

In a letter penned by the Lubavitcher Rebbe on Monday of Parshas Yisro, 13 Shevat 5748, accompanying his $613 donation for a Hakhel Torah he mentioned, "It should be noted (and illuminated) that the final mitzvah in the order of the mitzvos as they appear in the Torah is the mitzvah to write a Sefer Torah. It is preceeded by the mitzvah of Hakhel, “gather the men, women and children.”

The Rebbe repeatedly encouraged all Jews to utilize this auspicious time of Hakhel to assemble– men, women and children – and encourage each other to increase in Torah observance and study, and foster an environment of fear of G‑d.

The Rebbe particularly encouraged these assemblies on or around Sukkot, when the Hakhel gathering took place in the Holy Temple, but the entire year is a "Hakhel Year," and an opportune time to promote Jewish unity and gatherings.
